When the Real Thing Hits

When the real thing
Hits in between the eyes
We, as humans,
Don’t realize
Or
Choose not to recognize
The occurrence
A flamboyant
Over indulgent
Beautiful utterance
Of pure undying Love
We
Question
Study
All possible options
To prove this Love false
Insufficient
Unequal
Convincing our minds and hearts
‘To get out’
Before getting started
But Love
Doesn’t need
A ‘ready, set, go’
Or a finish line
Unadulterated devotion
With all the cards on the table
Love waits
For love in return
