If Only His Light Struck Closer

If only His light struck closer
Grasping feverish and tainted
Images of day
Us waiting
Like fools in a Shakespeare play
For better
For worse
Singing our own tunes
Hoping the notes never change
Praying for life to just stay the same
In one enormous affectionate embrace
He whisks us up
Preparing the footpath
Proclaiming Regents for transformation
Allowing the greatest of fears
To become the greatest defeats

War is Fought Over You

War is fought over you
Blinded to this reality
Relief comes unexpectedly
My Last Resort
Stands strong
Obedient with fervor
Carrying a burden
Taken willingly but not owned
Truth rests high
Believing in an outcome
Beyond human dealings
Pain pierces in panic
Rage rolls in on waves of disgust
And still
My Last Resort
Asks for more
How purhelming* you are to watch
A faith I have longed to meet

This Act of Love is…

This act of love is…
For the woman who tattooed the Crown
For the owner of the shop and his question for quality
For the receptionist who wonders in amazement
For the bartender who sees something different tonight
For the waiter who loves the look and doesn’t understand the meaning
For the ones who love to dance
For the believer who can’t wait for what comes next
For the child who looks beyond the surface
For the girl friend who tried to talk the idea down
For the sister and her child-like faith
For the brother-in-law and his undying support
For the father who continues to learn
For the mother who is stuck in her ways
For the best friend who is ready for anything
For the cashier with no clue
For the old lady who stands in line behind, disgusted
For the academic who searches for theological answers
For the boyfriend who is losing faith
For the teenager at a stop light
For the bible study group
For the open minds
For the ones who are enthralled by mystery
For the acquaintances with suicidal thoughts
For the neighbor who walks his dog
For all the ones not mentioned
For all the ones yet to see
But most of all
This act of love is for
Him
Not for me

When the Real Thing Hits

When the real thing
Hits in between the eyes
We, as humans,
Don’t realize
Or
Choose not to recognize
The occurrence
A flamboyant
Over indulgent
Beautiful utterance
Of pure undying Love
We
Question
Study
All possible options
To prove this Love false
Insufficient
Unequal
Convincing our minds and hearts
‘To get out’
Before getting started
But Love
Doesn’t need
A ‘ready, set, go’
Or a finish line
Unadulterated devotion
With all the cards on the table
Love waits
For love in return

In so Deep

In so deep
Scarcely scraping the surface
Thought you knew
All the answers
Only to realize
A world of new questions
Don’t worry
Perspective approaches

Spread Unselfishly

Spread Unselfishly
The gift I give freely
Our moments in intimacy
Bathe in Me

Tense In Longing

Tense in longing
Distant sadness
Gripping unexpectedly
An ‘I love You’
Sheathed in deep devotion
Warmth claiming inch by inch
Often I think of You
Adoring Beauty
Unwind
Worries fading
A frivolous importance
Allow the world around
To fall in silence
Adjust the lens
Crystal clear view
Throughout Our
Black cloaked bedroom
Rest
While I hold You

Ask Me Again

‘Ask Me again’
Marry Me
My love
Marry Me!
Every year
Over and over

Ripe Budding Palette

Ripe budding palette
Warm in luscious
Affection
Mon coeur
Flames passion
A mixture
Lavishing Our presence
Rich over sweet
Wine stained berries
Crystallized white
Baked oats encasing
A soul’s delight
Bring to this mix
A sensuous spice
Sprinkled throughout
Or pinched on top
Elements served as one
Accompanied by a dollop of
Cold vanilla glacée
Smooth in flavor
Creating a partnership
Entwined to share
With the most rare
Love and care

Two Halves

Two halves
Do not make a whole
It is just two halves
With a gap in the middle
Three points
Connecting three sides
A complete Being
Working in accord
